In short

Comics in Bosnia and Herzegovina grew around Male novine, the Sarajevo children's paper founded in 1956, where Ahmet Muminović published his first strip in 1968 before drawing Valter brani Sarajevo, and around Strip Art, the magazine Ervin Rustemagić started with his agency Strip Art Features in 1971.

The 1992 to 1995 war destroyed the agency's offices in Ilidža and produced wartime comics such as Bosman (1994). Since then scenes in Sarajevo and Banja Luka have rebuilt through exhibitions, associations and magazines such as Žalosna sveska and Parabellum, while artists such as Milorad Vicanović-Maza, Adi Granov and Enis Čišić draw for French and American publishers.
