In short

Chilean comics, called historietas or monos, begin with Lustig's strip 'Un alemán en Chile' (1906) and the magazines Zig-Zag and El Peneca.

A golden age from 1945 to 1973 produced Pepo's Condorito, which appeared in 1949 and had its own magazine from 1955 to 2019, and Mampato (1968).
