In short

Hong Kong's comics, called manhua, are anchored by Alfonso Wong's Old Master Q, first published in 1962 and described as the oldest Asian comic series still in publication.

From 1970 Tony Wong Yuk-long's Oriental Heroes opened a tradition of action and martial-arts manhua, and in 2025 the Hong Kong Heritage Museum staged an exhibition on the city's comedy comics.
