Monaco

1982

In short

Monaco has a very small comics history.

Patrice Woolley, born in Monaco in 1962, drew Monaco à travers les siècles, a 1982 comics history of the principality with a preface by Prince Rainier III, and later the 3D comics album Ténèbres. From 2014 the Monaco company Shibuya Productions, founded by Cédric Biscay, tied the principality to manga through the MAGIC event, an international manga contest run with Shūeisha, and Blitz, presented as the first Monegasque manga.
